Alexander More

Chief Sustainability Officer 2018-2022

Alexander More is an award-winning sustainability leader, climate & health scientist and economist. At TMX he oversees the development of our flagship, patented, heat abatement technology (HAT), bringing a true, scalable climate solution to market to address the health impact of the climate and heat crises on the most vulnerable populations. Dr. More brings to his work at TMX more than 20 years of leadership in the fields of sustainability, environmental health, and as one of the founders of the field of Climate & Health (Planetary Health), he leverages a global and highly interdisciplinary perspective in forging a path for emerging technologies to replace unsustainable practices. Besides leading the creation of carbon-neutral climate solutions, at TMX, Dr. More also oversees the company's compliance with ESG and best practices, through GRI-aligned reporting processes, following TFCD and SASB standards.

His industry expertise is complemented by his holistic approach to climate & health as a scientist and economist, as Group Leader for Climate and Health at Harvard University, where he also earned his PhD and where he has taught and conducted research for the last 20 years. Dr. More is also a fellow of the Theodore Roosevelt Institute and Associate Professor of Environmental Health at LIU in New York City. Dr. More is also Associate Research Professor at the Climate Change Institute, the world's premier institute for the study of global climate change.

In his academic research, Dr. More leads a project on the impact of environmental change on human and ecosystem health and the economy. His research and interviews have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, The Guardian, Popular Science, Natural History Magazine, and more than 150 other print and online publications worldwide.

He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal Society for Public Health, the Explorers Club, the Theodore Roosevelt Institute, and served on the board of Greenwater Foundation and Blue Ocean Watch, where he advises on communications and news strategies. Raised and educated in southern Italy and Greece in the early part of his life, Dr. More moved permanently to New York City on his own to complete his secondary education. He attended college in Chicago and eventually Washington University in St. Louis. Immediately after graduation, he continued his studies in a fully-funded interdisciplinary PhD program at Harvard University, where he earned multiple awards and remains affiliated today.
